(TAKE 2, because Proboards hates my thread...)
Bell had been trying to sleep. She was curled around her bonded's precious opalescent egg, belly pressed to its side while her limbs curled about it, both of them nestled within its basket and snuggled partly under the faded blanket that covered the egg. Her bonded (all three parts of it) were out, as were all the other shinies that made up her funny family, so sleep should have come easily. Nature, however, had other plans, and the rising tide of hormones within the Noon disturbed her efforts at dozing. For her smooth-hided relatives there would have been a brightness to her hide, but being furred there were no such ready indicators. Still, her time had come, and eventually even she could deny it no longer.
With a disgruntled hiss the furlizard dragged herself out from under the blanket, pausing a moment to ensure it covered the egg still, and launched herself out of their home into the skies over the mountain. Tail lashing with irritation, wings flared wide, the Noon tipped her head back and voices a clarion trumpet call, beckoning forth any suitors. The imperative to hunt before the flight woke within her, and the furred Noon stooped low over the terraced side of the mountain to snatch up a stoat-like creature. It was the work of moments to slay it, then the furlizard mantled over her meal on a rocky outcrop, eating with a will while she waited for her suitors to arrive.
(OOC: Open to all - PC or NPC, regular firelizards or furlizards, male or female. I'll try to post each weekend at least. This will close to new participants next Saturday, 1/13, at 11:59pm EST.)
