Name: Zenith
Nicknames: Zee, Little Bird
Species: Lunarian Cybertronian
Age: 6473, equivalent to young adulthood
Gender: Agender, prefers masculine pronouns
Profession: Explorer
Appearance:
a sixteen foot tall pain in the aft
In short, Zenith is a giant robot modeled after a military jet.
While Zee is huge by human standards- easily 16’ at the tips of his audio antennae- he’s positively runty for a Cybertronian, and almost comically slender to boot. A good half of his height is pure leg, attached to digitigrade feet at one end and narrow hips at the other. He’s narrow all over, come right to it, save for the mess of wings, tailfins, and propulsion systems mounted between his shoulders. All that wing leaves him looking distinctly (and hilariously) topheavy. Zee’s exoplating is copper, though this color is only visible around his joints and across his startlingly-humanoid face. Oxygen exposure has tarnished the rest of him a lovely (and oddly striated) mix of verdigris greens and teals. His optics are a rich teal, typically hidden behind a pair of Cybertronian-scale goggles that ‘clip’ to his helm via magnets.
His alt-form is a Cybertronian jet. It looks something like this.
Through some quirk of transformation Zee is capable of compacting himself down into a ‘fun-sized’ form roughly half his usual size. While he’s still eight feet tall in this mode, it makes talking with humanoids a great deal less likely to cause neck strain.
History:
Zee was sparked on Cybertron, one of the first wave of Lunarians brought online after the Great War drew to a close. He grew to maturity in Kalis, surrounded by a cohort who loved him as fiercely as they loved each other. With their support he grew into a sensible if spirited young mech with a bright future ahead of him. That future was realized when he was recruited by an exploration team set to find Cybertron’s many lost colonies. Zee spent a solid five thousand years doing precisely that. On one of his many journeys across the stars a quantum engine malfunction sent him to Planet, where he has just begun to settle in.
Personality:
Sweet, irreverent, and filled to bursting with boundless enthusiasm. Wants to do all the things, see all the places, and meet all the people. Naturally extroverted with an ever-present sense of humor. Intensely curious and highly driven when it comes to pursuing knowledge or answering questions. A surprisingly good listener and a deceptively good substitute therapist. Deeply empathetic, a master of ‘forgiving and forgetting’ when he’s wronged. Emotionally resilient with a strong sense of self and considerable self-confidence. Fiercely committed to justice and doing good in the world. Can’t stand bullies and actively puts himself in the line of fire to defend others. Often energetic to a fault; he reads social cues fine but tends to blow past them when he’s on a tear. Can be nosy, intrusive, and incredibly stubborn when he’s trying to figure something out. Tends to ‘white knight’ unless explicitly told not to, and even then it’s a struggle. Still young by Cybertronian reckoning, and he acts the part, complete with all requisite immaturity and growing pains.
Abilities:
Transformer - There’s a reason Cybertronians were nicknamed ‘Transformers’. Zee, like the rest of his kind, is capable of swapping between a humanoid root mode and a vehicular alt-mode at will. Unlike the rest of his kind, he’s further able to take on a half-sized ‘fun-sized’ version of his root mode. He further suspects he may have additional alt-modes tucked away somewhere he hasn’t yet figured out how to access.
Regenerative Point-One Percenter - An unusual number of Lunarians were so-called ‘point-one percenters’, mecha with atypically powerful sparks and associated unusual abilities. Zee is one of them; for him, this manifests as remarkable physical resilience paired with an impressive healing ability.
Unremarkable - All Lunarians share a strange ability to go unnoticed unless actively calling attention to themselves. As a result, Zee is remarkably easy to overlook despite being, y’know, a giant robot from space.
Solar Powered - A common upgrade on post-war Cybertron, Zee and many others were fitted with solar energon converters. By spending time in direct sunlight Zee can replenish his internal energon stores, effectively ‘eating sunlight’. Provided he can spend enough time in the sun, this effectively eliminates his need to actually ingest energon.
All-Arounder - Zee spent the majority of his adult life acting as a scout and ambassador for Cybertron. In the process he learned a grab-bag of skills running the gamut from marksmanship and basic starship repair all the way to organic religious rites and first aid. While he’s not The Best at any one thing, he’s reliably competent in most fields related to surviving on the edges of civilized space.
