Being born on Palaven usually means that your life is more or less laid out for you, and for a long while, Cyprena was completely okay with it. With one older brother and a younger sister, Cyprena lived her life looking up to her older sibling and striving to be a good role model for her younger one. She did well with her studies, enlisted in the military, and climbed through some of the ranks on various space fleets, reaching being the second in command of the Jewel under a human captain.
And then, one day, years later, Cyprena quit her service and returned home, never speaking of why she left, though her abandoning her position left a small burn of shame within her family members whenever anyone asked. She wouldn't tell stories, even the good ones. Cyprena, however, had loosened up considerably, breaking from her strict, militaristic lifestyle and adopting a much more easy going, slightly brash one. She also preferred being called Ren.
Standing at about six feet, two inches, Ren's metallic carapace takes on a beige-grey tone. Silvery green tattoos are painted over her face, most distinctly curved beneath her eyes. Her eyes are the color of a clear piece of amber with the sun bleeding through it, and she's slim, toned, from her years in the service. Her flanging voice is a fairly low alto, with a tone generally as harsh as her words.
Ren today is easy going and a bit of a crass jokester. She loves a good adventure or challenge, and has enough pride that she will generally not back down and stubbornly push on ahead, even in unfavorable conditions. She's friendly and accepting, taking various circumstances in stride. Bullheaded as she is, she is very aware of her shortcomings, and is always open to learning new things and experiences. She knows first hand that the best way to get to know anything is by learning from someone who knows better, especially when there are lives on the line. She's always open to new relationships and friendships, sometimes, whether you like it or not.
