Haelys Celtaris  Appearance: Haelys is a striking image to most. She stands at 5'8" with average weight and a full chest. Long light silver hair falls down to her lower back in pleasant waves. Her skin is porcelain with no visible blemishes or scars. She has a sharp, feminine face and full lips which are more beautiful to behold when her pale blue-gray eyes aren't fiercely fixed upon you. Should anyone have the honor of viewing her bare back, it is entirely covered in tidy light blue glyphs inscribed in neat lines from the top of her scapulas down to her sacrum. To say the least, she does not look her age (43 years) considering she is human. The old saying "Things are not always what they seem" certainly applies here, though is yet to be discovered by anyone on Planet.  Personality: Haelys' top priority is herself and she has an unhealthy amount of respect (more like reverence) for herself. She has high expectations for herself as well as anyone who she passes judgement on (by the way, if she's met you, she's judging you). She is passionate about her overarching goals and whimsical desires and she will do whatever it takes to achieve them; too much ambition is a vice. She is shameless and it is difficult, although possible with a compelling argument, to dissuade her decisions. After all, a wise man once said: "Once you've accepted your flaws, no one can use them against you." While she has no problem lying to get what she wants, she prefers the business of harsh truths. She is not reserved in sharing her opinions, although she will also utilize calculated silences. She takes everything seriously, is suspicious of everyone's intentions, and is always looking for opportunities to benefit herself as if it is necessary to survive. It should be taken into account that the way Haelys goes about her life was the most advantageous method (on an individual level) where she comes from. She is an intelligent woman and is able to adapt. How she may change in the face of a planetary relocation is to be determined...  History: Haelys comes from a world that is eat or be eaten (metaphorically(!), although surely there are Whazzitians for which this is literal). She grew up in a royal family plagued by competition, politics, manipulation, and ruthlessness. She has lived through a nation-wide war as well a number of personal attacks (we won't get into the details of these methods). While her world was mostly inhabited by humans, magic was also at play. The basic principles of magic determined that nothing came without a price, although there was much left to be discovered beyond that. Magic had always been shrouded in mystery to most and it was a large part of Haelys' life work to discover more about it, mostly by trial and error (once again, we're sparing you the details for the summary here). It was a mixture of clever politics and taboo magic that Haelys utilized to become Queen of her nation, although the constant battle to stay on top did not stop just because she gained the crown. In fact, this is exactly how she came to be on Planet: forced through a portal by those who despised her... There is much detail of Haelys' history yet to be unveiled, though surely Whazzit will manage to bring more of it to light. |
