On the Horizons, Danger Comes

For the sake of weyrd-wide cooperation, it worked out that Haelys and Zebey were in different areas. On top of that, there were so many other people and shinies around, there were plenty of distractions. Besides, what would Thalack and Zebey do in the middle of a peaceful crowd? Fight an epic battle? Ha, funny.
Okay. Maybe they would.
The woman had raised an eyebrow just slightly at the response. A list? With names? Interesting. And impressive. She had to admit, she felt a little validated that she was on the list. There was also a small part of her that was surprised she wasn't on the naughty list (AKA the do-not-give-flamethrower list).
At the sight of the saddle, some comforting familiarity washed over her. She knew how to saddle and care for horses. And while Thalack was very far from a horse, this riding contraption appeared relatively similar in the way that it worked. It, of course, was much larger than the saddles she was used to and also had extra areas for holding the additional machinery.
Haelys gave the person assisting her a nod of acknowledgement. Then she tried to pick up the saddle...
How the hell did this rock creature pick this up? They must be very strong because this saddle was huge and heavy. Haelys turned back to look at Thalack and Millicent, annoyance on her face.
Don'ts worry. There plenty peoples around to help mistress. Ever supportive of her queen, the Pyre easily turned to face the foot (and tentacle and hoof) traffic passing by. With a long, slow breath, her green flames crept out of her mouth and spread until someone walking near stopped and turned. Their eyes looked rather...dazed. Tired?
"At your service, ma'am." Even their voice was sluggish and robotic, but Haelys didn't seem to mind.
"Place this saddle upon the back of my Kal'daka here." She motioned to the equipment, then to Thalack, who was waiting with an inpatient sway of his tail. While the spellbound citizen obeyed the command, Haelys looked at Millicent with a smirk.
"Your tricks are quite brilliant." She praised her, clearly entertained. The Pyre melted a little inside at the compliment.
Oh. It is my lady that brilliant. Just getting what we wants.
The two were honestly quite the manipulative and self-centered duo. But no harm was done. The man was dismissed from her service as soon as the saddle was placed upon Thalack.
"Lower yourself down. I can't reach the stirrup." Haelys commanded the Sargtlin, who turned his head quickly with a growl and a snap in her direction. The queen hardly flinched, grabbing onto his fur and practically yanking him down as he snarled. The two communicated in a rather...primitive manner. If she wasn't the only humanoid he had met that understood his ways, he would have ripped her apart by now. Alas, here they were, forever bound and exchanging their aggression without grudges against the other.
Haelys had tightened the straps to her liking and climbed her way up, adjusting and shifting in the saddle to test it out. She slid her hand under the edges, checking to see if any parts of it dug into Thalack the wrong way—not that he would flinch.
"Does this feel okay? Can you run?" The Sargtlin basically launched like a rocket to test it out. If it weren't for the new saddle, Haelys would have tumbled right off the backend. Millicent cackled at the sight, pleased.
When they returned, Haelys's hair was a little...frizzier than before. Just a little. Still mostly magnificent.
She dismounted and approached the same table once more.
"The equipment seems to fit well."
She would need to learn how the flamethrowers worked. She didn't even really know what they were. She only guessed based on the rather straightforward name. It seemed...enticing. And although she understood these were not playthings, she figured she would need to play with them at least a little bit to test them out...!
